DeFi

DeFi, short for Decentralized Finance, refers to a blockchain-based financial system that operates without the need for traditional financial intermediaries such as banks or brokerages. Instead, DeFi uses smart contracts - self-executing pieces of code on a blockchain - to create decentralized financial applications that allow individuals to engage in financial transactions with each other directly, without the need for a centralized authority.
